4 Year Old Pre-K

4s Working 3The four-year-old program will provide preparation for Kindergarten: academically, socially, and emotionally in a diverse and religious environment following a developmentally appropriate curriculum with a hands on approach to learning in a language rich environment.  Students enjoy story time, theme based activities, community and cultural awareness activities.  Academics include introduction to the alphabet and early phonics.  Recognizing that language development is essential to early literacy and critical thinking, activities such as dramatic play, library time, and puppet theater are incorporated into the day.  Equally important are the development of fine and gross motor skills.

Basic math and science concepts include sorting, sequencing, counting, color and shape recognition, and grouping.  The children review the calendar, days of the week, months and weather.  A strong religious curriculum, Bible stories, and weekly chapel visits are an important part of our program.

4s Working 1The four-year-old program highlights holiday celebrations, and season-based activities.  Letter introduction includes using a variety of tactile materials and interactive activities.  Smart-board usage and classroom computers enhance early learning by incorporating 21st Century technology.  Music and art are also a major part of the program.

Social and emotional development is critical for academic success.  Our program promotes kindness, empathy and love towards others.  Compassionate four-year-olds are caring and encouraging towards their peers.  The children learn how to share, take turns and care for their environment in and out of school.  They learn the importance of enjoying the game regardless of the outcome.  The emphasis is on independence, self-reliance, self-regulation and building self-esteem.

Children must turn four by December 31st.
